Exchange Setup/Design Question

Post by usenet » Sat Jul 04, 2009 2:59 pm

Hi There,

Hope everyone is well? Im just after a bit of advice and a point in the
right direction?

We basically have several cargo ships all currently with exchange onboard.
Each one connects to the net via a VSAT or GSM connection to collect & Send
its mail.

The ships each have there own domain name which is also there e-mail domain
e.g:

www.ship1.com - captin@ship1.com
www.ship2.net - captin@ship2.net
www.ship3.co.uk - captin@ship3.co.uk

and so on ....

I need to put a solution in place which will allow us to access Webmail on
on off the ship. The ship has no ability to have a static IP, we also need a
little bit of fault tolerance also incase the ships mail goes down.

We would like to have 2 x Off ship exchange servers. 1 in the UK & 1 in the
US.

We would like these on a cluster, but also have all 12 ships data on them.
Allowing Ships staff to use webmail when on land.

I was thinking 2 x On Land Servers - Both in Cluster, collecting Mail for
all 12 Domains. Then Each Ships exchange collects own domains mail from the
2 x On Land Cluster?

Hope i`ve not confused everyone explaining it?

Any body got any ideas or suggestions?

Many, Many Thanks
Regards
Si

Answer was posted in another newsgroup. If you're going to post the same
question to multiple newsgroups you should post one message addressed to all
of the newsgroups with one post so that answers will be posted to all the
newsgroups.
